RNA binding proteins

In
recent years it has become clear that a fully integrated perspective on
bacterial posttranscriptional regulation will require improved
understanding of RNA-protein regulatory networks. RNA regulatory
circuits are likely to be interconnected in a cellular environment
through the action of RNA-binding proteins. However, these networks of
RNA regulators and proteins have not been systematically explored.
Moreover, despite a fair amount of research attention, many bacterial
RNA-binding proteins remain enigmatic and the full extent of their
functional roles is oftentimes unclear. For these and other reasons, we
are developing approaches for identification and analyses of eubacterial
RNA-binding proteins and their RNA substrates.
